Turbinate International bv has developed its own rotating pigs. The advantage of a rotating pig is that it gives maximum all-round cleaning without so-called "tracking", where grooves are made in the coke. The pigs are made of a special material which allows it to pass through narrow spaces and boxheaders. Instead of sharp chisels the pigs are fitted with special rounded hardened studs, which do not damage the inside of the pipeline-systems. The diameter of the pigs used depends on the thickness and hardness of the coke being cleaned; increasing in stages of 3 or 5 [mm] until the inside diameter of the pipe has been reached.
